look at sikecik's activity when mommy hardly busy working in the office. now she's listening to surah al-mulk by Syed Alghamidi in Youtube.
i am so lucky to be born to a mother who stayed at home and breastfeeds. little did i know that during the 80's, the formula milk derived from the cow were intensely promoted. what i knew was the propaganda sounded like 'give your baby formula milk so they will grow healthy and fat'. when siblings and I were small, we tend to make fun of kids who drink bottle milk. 'mak dia lembu pasal dia minum susu lembu' (evil right)..i dont know where that teasing came from but i still remember some of the occassions.
so, of course as the saying goes 'breastfed babies will breastfeed'
At this stage of pregnancy (i'm 22 weeks), i am beginning to worry a lot. yes i am sure some of you too, as parents, you worry about everything. worried about whether she gets enough nutritions in there, worried if i cant feel her move yet, worried if she really grows properly, worried about her health, worried if she is too cramped inside haha, worried if i cant give the best to my child, worried about almost all silly things!..
so i want to give the best for her/him, i want to breastfeed! People say, have the will first and there will be a way.determination is enough, comes the worrying part.i will be a working mother, who occassionally travels the world. i live 40km from the office and i have a new boss who is 63 year old norwegian man, who has forgotten completely how challenging it is during the child bearing years. for him it was at least 25 years ago!
OK, as husband knows me, whenever i worry, i will start reading and reading and reading. if you look at my google history, you will find quite hilarious search phrases e.g
' 22 weeks no kicks '
' 20 weeks belly small'
'breastpump cheapest'
'eczema pregnancy'
'babysitter vs nursery'
'nama baby bagus'
and the list go on!
so i started reading the experiences of working moms who fully breastfeed their child. i even have many hardcore breastfeeding mom friends who pumps every hour at the office, to ensure there is enough milk supply for their beloved children. i started to get curious about the management of expressed breastmilk from pumping, transporting, freezing, warming and storing. then comes the gadget stuff, which breastpump to buy, sterilizer, warmer, bottles, nipples and so on.
but i still cant find solution if let say i need to travel out of the country for a couple of days and i can't say no too. i know i worry too early but it is a real concern right now. how will my baby survive? i was praying there will be women somewhere who actually live up to this challenge.
i finally found a couple of amazing ladies whose jobs require to travel frequently but still hardcore bfers! yeayyy..one of them even bought an in-flight special coleman icebox for her breastmilk stocks. cool!!! i bookmarked these blogs and hopefully these people could help me if ever i wanted some advice some day.
but now ICE, lets just purely pasang niat and prepare....tolonglahhh
talking about working and travelling, i am flying to Geneva tomorrow and guess what i would purchase? please let there be the cheapest.....

medela freestyle 2-phase expression breastpump!
